Naik saif Ali Janjua Shaheed

 Saif Ali janjua shaheed was born on 25 April 1922 in janjua Rajput family in “khandbaz” (khandhar) Tehsil Nakial Azad Jammu and Kashmir. He was at Naik rank in Pakistan army and the unit was “Azad Kashmir regiment” Haider Dil Battalion.

On 18 March 1941 he was enlisted in “Royal Corps of Engineers in British Indian Army”. He was come back his native town after completion of his service in British Indian Army. He established the Haidri force with the help of “Sardar Fateh Muhammad Karailvi”. Haidri force was raised as under the command of Lt. Col Muhammad Sher khan on 1st January 1948.

He was made platoon commander in indo-Pak war 1947 and awarded with the rank of Naik due to his constant royalty and courage. His duty was to defend the Bhdha Khanna post, he was fights very bravery and with few jawans he repulsed the enemies’ attacks. Enemy capture his post and with two companies attack and heavy shelling but he manages all situations and he had complete hold on his post, during the course of action he hit on his chest by artillery fire from enemy side. He embraced martyrdom on 10 October 1948.

Defence council of Azad Jammu and Kashmir decorated him with “Hilal-e-Kashmir” and the Government of Pakistan declared that the “Hilal-e-Kashmir” is equal to “Nishan-e-Haider”.

His service period was from 1941 to 1948. He received the highest military award on his extraordinary bravery.
